Champions (almost)! Whitecaps 2-0 TFC
By: Lee | June 5th, 2009
For the past few days, I’ve been busy moving and getting set up at work.
Nonetheless, it is never too late to celebrate a great game, and a great game it was! The Whitecaps moved the ball around beautifully, and even though they were outshot, they were clearly the more dangerous side and deserving victors. And this is without Captain Martin Nash! I can’t think of a single player on our team who played poorly. Man of the match goes to Toure. My cousin told me this guy his hot and cold. Well this game, he ignited.
I am overjoyed with the result, as honestly, I was not expecting the Whitecaps to win this competition and represent Canada in the Concacaf Champions League. (OK, Toronto still has a chance, but no one is expecting them to put up four goals). I had thought TFC had improved too much in the off-season and that the Whitecaps, even though they have a great future ahead, were a little too young right now. Our young guys really stepped it up, and TFC pulled off another choke job.
In case you missed the game, here are the highlights:

Yep, seeing as how my Impact are officially eliminated, I’m cheering on Vancouver…so I hope we don’t lose by four goals to TFC in two weeks…yeah, I know we’ve already given up four goals in one half…
