Post-Nutrilite Hangover: Whitecaps 1-2 Impact
By: Lee | June 7th, 2009
I really don’t know what to say after this game.
We didn’t play badly. We moved the ball well. We dominated possession and we had some great chances.
And we lost our third straight in USL action and second straight at home. I guess all that Nutrilite success makes you forget about disturbing trends like that.
Just like the Rochester game, we lost this one because of a lack of focus and just missing that last killer ball or killer touch. That’s the kind of thing you expect from a young and inexperienced side. Full credit to Montreal, they are a tough team that is starting to recover from their post-collapse depression. That and it’s really hard beating a team three times in a season. Just ask Liverpool and their experience in the Champions League this year.
In the end, I am not too worried. There’s not going to be any ‘throw the whole team overboard’ talk that is happening with another Canadian team right now after they lost three straight. This is a team that is building for the future, and this game is perhaps a reminder of that.
Props cousin on your third goal! Keep up the good work (and keep that ball close to your feet when going one-on-one!)
Be Champions!

No worries, man. Vancouver can afford to lose a few USL games, especially with the CCL on the horizon…save it for when it counts.
