…There’s still more soccer tonight!

By: Lee | May 27th, 2009

First of all, congrats to Barcelona for their Champions League victory! Fully deserving victors over a somewhat disappointing Manchester United side.

Now back to business. The Champions League final is not the only notable football match taking place today. The Vancouver Whitecaps play the Montreal Impact play the return fixture to help decide Canada’s best soccer team. In case you missed it, the Whitecaps beat the Impact 2-0 in Montreal, in what was a highly entertaining fixture.

For the Whitecaps to have any hope of winning the Vitamin Canadian Championship, they must at the very least get a draw tonight. A win would level us on points with Toronto, although they would have a game in hand. A loss would mean Toronto would only need a draw in their last two games to win.

You can catch the game live on Sportsnet at 10:30 PM EST.

Be champions!
