Top of the Table!*

By: Lee | May 12th, 2009

*DISCLAIMER: It is still very in the season, so it is pretty much pointless to be excited about being at the top of the standings. Also, Rochester and Charleston have games in hand and could easily overtake the Whitecaps.

Nonetheless, with a convincing 1-0 win over what many believe is the strongest team in USL, the Whitecaps are sitting much higher in the standings than expected. It is impressive that such a young team as the Whitecaps are doing as well as they are. This can only be good news for when the team is promoted to Major League Soccer.

On a sour note, Marlon James went down with a hamstring injury in the 38th minute. This could certainly hurt the Caps’ scoring ability if the young strikers *cough* Marcus *cough* don’t step up.
