We got a streak going – Whitecaps 3-1 Endangered Species
By: Lee | July 31st, 2009
The Whitecaps win again!
Wow, it feels good to right that down, as it is not something I’ve done a lot this season. The Whitecaps have struggled to consistently perform well: one day we’ll play great and then the next game we’ll be quickly down two goals and then fight to get back in the game.
Much of this inconsistency can be attributed to an inconsistent lineup. In these last few games, it has become obvious that losing Marlon James to injury (twice) was a pretty darn big loss to this team. He scored two big goals against the Rhinos and he is tied for the league-lead in goal scoring having only played ten games. He was the kind of player the Whitecaps FO signed knowing that he could keep the team playing at a high level while the young guns matured. It’s a shame we haven’t seen more of him this season.
Last but not least, let’s not take away any credit from Tyrell Burgess who scored a howitzer of a goal. I’m still searching for highlights as this goal is a must-see.

Lol. Interesting nickname. Endangered Species FC. But I’m sure a Railhawk is more endangered than a Rhino.

Congrats, guys. Your team didn’t play that well, but they got a great result. Your keeper made a top class save as well.
